1. What is a significant challenge you feel today’s school age children face? Be specific. Discrimination against race. Male children will be educated in many countries because of poverty, security or cultural factors, while their female counterparts will not be educated. Having the anxiety that their can be intruders in their schools which can cause casualties. Stress within classwork. Poverty. Small classrooms. Children tend not to tell anyone when they are being bullied. Technology can also be a distraction causing them to not complete homework.

2. Select one of the theorists you learned about in week #2. What do you think they would have to say about the issue you identified? (Do NOT select the same theorist you discussed in this week’s first discussion topic).

Garder informed me how his theory was there can be many intelligence, I think he would have to say about the issues children are now facing would be advancing classes or having a smaller group of children when they are being taught to help them stay focused, and possibility it would help them become smarter.

3. Do a web search to identify agencies/resources, etc. that are available to help children and their families cope with this issue. Please share the web address and information about one of these agencies/resources.

https://www.stopbullying.gov/ If a child is being bullied in a school care Contact the teacher, School counselor, School principal, School superintendent, State Department of Education.Visit a local counselor or other mental health services exit disclaimer icon.

4. What do you feel is needed to further help children deal with the issue you selected? Be specific. The Mental Health and Addiction Insurance Help exit disclaimer icon consumer portal prototype can help consumers get to the right resource to solve their problem of insurance coverage for mental health and substance use disorder.

5. How might an after school program be used to assist these children/families? Be specific. After school programs provide access to caring adults and a less formal, more open learning environment in which students can feel safe from peer pressure, build trust and learn how to handle bullies in school and online. Because school leaders have to incorporate preventive approaches specifically to create a safe environment for each student.
